How the MetroPM team will be spending Christmas and their hopes for 2021!
2020, oh what a year it’s been! With all that time apart during the lockdown, I think we can all agree that we’ll all be feeling a little more grateful than usual this holiday season and taking the time to appreciate the company of our friends and family. However your spending the holidays, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.
With the MetroPM offices closing for the festive season, we asked the team how they’ll be spending the much-deserved time off and their hopes for 2021. Read on!
What are your Christmas plans this year?
I’ll be enjoying a break without the phone and emails!
What’s your favourite thing about Christmas?
Catching up with friends and family, and enjoying the warmer weather.
What are you hoping for in 2021?
A year where everyone remembers to be kind and considerate of each other, just like they did through 2020.
What life lesson will you take from 2020 into 2021?
To stop and smell the roses and not to sweat the small stuff.
What’s your 2021 New Year’s Resolution?
Enjoy the company of people who make me smile and laugh and to not feel obligated to spend time with anyone who doesn’t.
What are your Christmas plans this year?
To spend quality time with my kids and most of my family. Unfortunately, my parents live interstate and two of my sisters, brother-in-law and their three kids will be with them. I will celebrate with my brother and other sister with their wonderful families.
What’s your favourite thing about Christmas?
Seeing my boys faces when they open their gifts and see that Santa has yet again worked his magic.
What are you hoping for in 2021?
Oh, there are a few things, can’t say or I will jinx them!
What life lesson will you take from 2020 into 2021?
No matter what life throws at you, stay true to yourself, keep your head up high and whatever you do, don’t give up.
What’s your 2021 New Year’s Resolution?
Never have one because if I do I break it before the 2nd January, hah!
What are your Christmas plans this year?
Lunch with family at The Vincent – Tequila on tap!
What’s your favourite thing about Christmas?
Eat, drink and sleep! Oh, and spending time with family.
What are you hoping for in 2021?
No corona and no bad vibes from 2020.
What life lesson will you take from 2020 into 2021?
1.5m rule should apply to some people permanently.
What’s your 2021 New Year’s Resolution?
Delete the UberEats app and not re-download it after 1 day.
What are your Christmas plans this year?
My plans are usually I have lunch with the family and then go into a food coma afterwards.
What’s your favourite thing about Christmas?
I love looking at Christmas lights – something about it seems magical and calming.
What are you hoping for in 2021?
Big changes!
What life lesson will you take from 2020 into 2021?
2020 was a major test for everyone, whether it be financially or mentally. Do not take things for granted and expect ‘it will always be there’ cause one day you never know, it may not be.
What’s your 2021 New Year’s Resolution?
Not to look back on what has happened, but to grow from it and focus on my well-being and do things for me.
What are your Christmas plans this year?
Seeing my family and going away for a holiday!
What’s your favourite thing about Christmas?
EVERYTHING! Christmas is the BEST time of the year. Oh, and dressing up.
What are you hoping for in 2021?
A smoother year than 2020, and more normality again.
What life lesson will you take from 2020 into 2021?
Don’t take anything for granted.

To spend more time with my children and continue with my fitness goals.

I’ll be going to Sydney with my girlfriend for a much-needed little getaway.

Family get togethers and going to look at all the Christmas lights.

To grow in my career and have a slightly more normal year than 2020.

Don’t take anything for granted and learn to appreciate the small things.

Make more of an effort to get to the gym now they’re open again!

I’ll be at home with family and friends and lots of ‘Cheers’.
What’s your favourite thing about Christmas?
Christmas Day – everything is done, and it’s time to enjoy it all.
What are you hoping for in 2021?
Smooth sailing with not too many storms.
What life lesson will you take from 2020 into 2021?
Yesterday’s done, tomorrow’s unknown, but today is now – make the most of it. Nothing new here, but 2020 has been a reminder to us all.

Plenty of catch ups and some time away.

Some time off with the family and eating too much food!
What are you hoping for in 2021?
Seeing the family in New Zealand and a beach holiday somewhere.
What life lesson will you take from 2020 into 2021?
To stop and smell the roses more often.

I gave up making resolutions years ago!

I’ll be heading to Blairgowrie with the family to spend Christmas at the beach.
What’s your favourite thing about Christmas?
I love the energy and happiness that surrounds the Christmas season. The smell of the Christmas trees and seeing all the decorations and lights.
What are you hoping for in 2021?
Hoping for some more normality and a smoother year to kick some more life goals.
What life lesson will you take from 2020 into 2021?
No matter how hard and stressful life gets, kindness is always the best medicine.
What’s your 2021 New Year’s Resolution?
To make more time for family and friends and to get my fitness back and start kick boxing.

I’ll be going to friends house.

Getting everyone together

To take each day as it comes and enjoy.

That it is a better year than 2020.
What are your Christmas plans this year?
No big plans this year for the Christmas period, but I will get away in January to see family in regional Victoria.
What’s your favourite thing about Christmas?
Spending time with family that you wouldn’t see regularly throughout the year and seeing the excitement the younger children have in the leads up to Christmas day

Same as every year, that my family and friends stay healthy and happy.

Take more time out for myself.

I’ll be going back to the Wimmera to spend time with family.

Seeing my teenage girls still getting excited and embracing the spirit of Christmas.

More travel within Australia and maybe even go to Bali.

Life does not have to be so busy to be fulfilling.

Appreciate the small things and move more.
What are your Christmas plans this year?
It will be a quite one for me this year, just with my parents (always good that way, Santa brings heaps of pressies!) But will be having our Christmas with my brothers and wives with my niece and nephews the weekend before and get to spoil them rotten!

Family time, the atmosphere and seeing the joy on my niece and nephews faces with all the excitement.
What are you hoping for in 2021?
Good health! And hopefully buying the block of land to build my house!

That it’s alright to stay home and enjoy your own company, and to have a small elite people around you as family and friends.

I don’t have New Year’s Resolutions, because who sticks to them anyway? And especially after this year we all have had!

To spend special time with family and friends.

To make the most of every single day, you’re never too busy or too tired to enjoy something you love doing.

Spend time with my niece and nephews, enjoying a lot of beach days and family outings to make up for lost time.

Not to take simple things like seeing friends, going for a drive down to the beach or going out for dinner for granted.

Spend as much time with my family as possible. if restrictions allow, I’m going to go see my brother in Canberra who is expecting his first child.

Always seeing all my family and eating as much food as possible – there is always room for more food.

That we can continue to move back towards our pre-Covid/normal life.

The importance of my daily routine and finding joy in the mundane things of life.

I am heading off to Byron Bay to spend Christmas with my family in the sun having fun drinking, eating and being merry!

Absolutely everything! Putting the Christmas tree up whilst Blasting Mariah Carey Christmas carols. Watching National Lampoon Christmas Vacation, giving presents and opening presents, drinking and eating enough food to feed a small nation.

For a repeat of 2020… NOT!
What life lesson will you take from 2020 into 2021?
Good things come to those who work their butts off and never give up.
What’s your 2021 New Year’s Resolution?
Don’t expect any new year’s resolutions from me. I intend of staying the same sarcastic, foul mouthed delight you’ve all come to know and love.
What are your Christmas plans this year?
I am having an orphan’s Christmas with some close friends as our families are overseas. We plan on bringing a little bit of our own Christmas tradition together!

It’s a time that brings people together. Especially after what this year has brought us.

I hope we see a wonderful return to our lovely city!
